Blueberry Crisp
The Wee Cooks went blueberry picking!
Just thirty minutes outside of Sacramento and we came home with bags and bellies filled with the delightful and sweet fruit.
After asking you fine folks for suggestions we decided a blueberry crisp was in order!
Here is our simple and delicious recipe in 3 easy steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Combine the following in a large saucepan on low heat:
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 cups of fresh blueberries
Saute on low heat for about 15 mins.
2. In a mixing bowl have your Wee Cook measure and mix the following:
2 cups oats
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup brown sugar (or other sweetener)
Mix until sticky!
3. Layer the blueberry mixture on the bottom and the oat crisp on the top. Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes! Cool and enjoy.
